I have an Enfield 3 band 39″ barrel etc. Same as your picture as far as I can see, BUT my lock plate is marked with “1862” and there is no crown etching. My etching is a shield with an eagle on top. There is a “M” in the middle of the shield.
I have been told the “M” stands for “Moore” but I am not sure about this.
There is a number stamp on the rear sight…28 in two places. No other marks.
I do not have a bore sight, but do not see any rifling.
Can you tell me anything further? Might be interested in selling so price estimate if you can give unseen ranger $$$.
